This game is a fantastic way to encourage movement and student participation. It can be integrated at any point during instruction, especially when students need a quick mental break.
How to Play?
- Introduce the Actions
- Start by presenting the different actions to your students. I find it helpful to explain that all movements will be performed in place, eliminating the need to move around the classroom.
- Demonstrate the actions before starting the game to ensure students understand.
2. Use Visual Aids
- After students are familiar with the action verbs, display the corresponding images on a screen or print and laminate them for durability.
3. Time to Play!
- If students like what they see in the image, they perform the associated action.
- If they don’t like it, they can remain seated.
- It’s a simple and fun way to engage students while reinforcing vocabulary!
